What should electric linear actuator be checked regularly

2024.11.20

In the field of industrial automation and mechanical equipment, the electric linear actuator is a key component for achieving precise and reliable motion control. Its stable performance in a variety of complex and harsh environments makes it an indispensable part of various automation systems. However, in order to ensure the efficient operation of the electric linear actuator, regular inspection and maintenance are particularly important.

Inspection of the electrical system
The electrical system is the core of the electric linear actuator, and its stability directly affects the performance of the entire equipment. Therefore, the inspection of the electrical system should be regarded as the top priority for regular maintenance.
Check the integrity of cables and connectors: Make sure that the cables are not damaged, aged or loose, and the connectors should be firmly connected and have no signs of corrosion. Any minor damage may cause poor signal transmission, thereby affecting the normal operation of the equipment.
Insulation resistance test: Use an insulation resistance tester to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the electrical system to ensure that the insulation resistance of each part meets industry standards. This test is essential to prevent electrical short circuits and leakage risks to ensure the safety of equipment and operators.
Confirmation of grounding conditions: Ensure that the electric linear actuator is well grounded, and the grounding resistance should meet relevant standards. Poor grounding may cause instability in the electrical system and even cause safety hazards.
Monitoring of power supply voltage and current: Regularly check whether the voltage and current of the power supply are stable and ensure that they fluctuate within the range specified by the equipment. Any abnormal fluctuation may be a signal of potential problems in the electrical system and needs to be checked and handled in a timely manner.

Inspection of mechanical parts
Mechanical parts are the core of electric linear drives to achieve motion control. Their wear and failure will directly affect the overall performance and service life of the equipment.
Inspection of sliding parts and guides: Sliding parts (such as sliders and guides) need to be carefully inspected to determine whether they are severely worn and lubricated or replaced as needed. Severely worn parts will not only cause unstable movement, but may also cause more serious failures.
Evaluation of transmission parts: Check the wear of transmission parts (such as gears, worms, etc.) to ensure that they can transmit power smoothly. At the same time, it is necessary to confirm the tightness of the transmission parts to avoid unstable movement caused by looseness.
Check the stability of the connection parts: Check the connection between the various parts of the electric linear drive to ensure that all fasteners such as screws and nuts are not loose. Loose connections may cause relative movement between parts, thereby affecting the overall performance of the equipment.
Appearance and installation inspection: Check the appearance of the electric linear actuator to ensure that there are no cracks, deformation or corrosion. At the same time, confirm whether the equipment is installed firmly to avoid performance degradation due to looseness or deviation.
